
Position Description
LBW Insurance and Financial Services is looking for an experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager for our very successful, growing, Employee Benefits Department.
Primary Functions:
At LBW, Employee Benefits Account Managers are responsible for maintaining and working with Large/Small Group clients. They provide analysis and recommendations concerning client’s existing coverages. They are familiar with carrier underwriting guidelines. They market, analyze, and present coverage offerings and solutions to clients. They educate clients and manage enrollment processes.
Our ideal candidate :
- Has 7+ years industry or related experience
- Is bilingual English/Spanish
- Has experience with BenefitPoint and knows how to navigate and quote using Warner Pacific or other quoting systems
- Has strong excel and presentation skills
- Has the ability to present complex issues/data with high level of clarity and impact
- Has the ability to evaluate and diagnose potential service problems and identify opportunities for broker products, services and /or solutions.
- Can communicate solutions to complex challenges in a manner that can be easily understood and assessed by client decision makers
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of health and welfare plans, including medical, dental, vision, STD and LTD insurance.
- Has demonstrated ability to explain, apply, and understand analysis techniques, benefit plan design, and employee benefit laws
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret client’s current coverage plan, identify gaps and recommend opportunities to expand lines of coverage
- Review standard plan designs and generate accurate proposals.
- Conduct employee meetings and educate employees on their benefits
- Act as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers or other vendors
- Coordinate and manage administrative activity on client accounts
- Participate in client strategy meetings, renewal meetings, book of business reviews, and any other meeting supporting client service delivery.
- Confirm and manage delivery of all client claims and plan financial reporting, providing appropriate commentary
- Together with Sales Executive, review request for proposal and obtain any additional information needed to fulfill the client’s request.
- Organize current data into a format that can be used to market the account and may be used as a summary of key information about prospect/client
- Develop a thorough understanding of internal process, team member responsibilities, and internal timelines so services can be accurate and effectively presented to the client
- Other Duties - Attend various departmental and other office meetings; Stay current on regulations, health care reform, and general insurance knowledge; Complete required CE credits to maintain your insurance license; Participate in seminars and classes for knowledge and skills development;
Job Requirements:
- Must have a current and active California Life and Health Insurance License
- Must have great customer service skills and 5+ years managing large and small group accounts
- Be able to prepare RFP and have knowledge of the insurance marketplace
- Be able to market new and existing clients
- Must be knowledgeable on ACA
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Needs to have good communicate skills with strong attention to detail
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines in an organized manner
- Assist Sales Team in client meetings
- Must be a team player

Salary range is $60,000 - $100,000 per year and is negotiable depending on experience
Our normal work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday with a 1-hour lunch. Must be able to work within these hours. Onsite and Hybrid available; this is not a remote position – candidate must be able to drive to LBW office and local clients as needed.
